Sauder Schelkopf filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of students who attended the University of the Arts. “The abrupt closure of UArts has caused considerable financial distress to it’s now former students who relied on its continuing operation and accreditation when they enrolled, obtained loans and, in many instances, relocated to Philadelphia to attend. We look forward to pursing this litigation on their behalf,” said Joe Sauder of Sauder Schelkopf.
As reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer:
Two days after news broke that University of the Arts would close on June 7, the college’s board of trustees on Sunday issued their first public statement. It offered no concrete explanation for the abrupt move — which came after the school had already admitted a new freshman class to start this fall — but again described it as the result of an unspecified “urgent” financial crisis.
