Sauder Schelkopf is investigating class action lawsuits on behalf of Texans who experienced significant increases in the cost of electricity, natural gas, and other utilities following the unprecedented winter storms in February of 2021.
It has been reported that large increases in the cost of wholesale power and natural gas provided to consumers. In some cases, it is alleged that some individuals received utility bills requesting over 100x their usual monthly payment.
We are investigating these skyrocketing utility bills to determine if providers fairly disclosed the possibility of a substantial price hikes to their customers, provided fair warning of the coming rate changes, whether pricing is tied to the cost paid by the power companies and whether the providers adequately protected the safety and best interests of their clients during this storm.
