It is alleged that Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act. A new lawsuit seeks to recover unpaid minimum wages, overtime compensation, and other damages for employees who were required to perform unpaid off-the-clock work, including pre-, mid-, and post-shift tasks.

The lawsuit seeks to represent employees who worked at Snyder’s-Lance facilities across the U.S. in positions such as packers, material handlers, machine operators, and others who were not compensated for time spent donning and doffing safety equipment and performing other required tasks outside their official clocked-in hours.

Key Allegations:

  • Employees were required to spend 6-10 minutes each day performing tasks off-the-clock, such as changing into steel-toe boots and safety gear, washing hands, and cleaning equipment.
  • Snyder’s-Lance failed to pay for these pre- and post-shift tasks, even though they were essential to the employees’ duties.
  • This practice led to the non-payment of overtime for hours worked beyond 40 hours per week.

What This Means for Affected Employees: Employees of Snyder’s-Lance who were impacted by these practices may be entitled to back pay, overtime compensation, liquidated damages, and other remedies.
