Did You Purchase Undeveloped Land from Eagle Rock Resort?
The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against Eagle Rock Resort Co., LLC, its parent company, and co-subsidiaries, alleging deceptive practices in the sale of undeveloped lots at their resort in Hazleton, PA. The complaint accuses Eagle Rock of inflating the value of these properties and misleading consumers into believing they were making sound real estate investments.
Key Allegations Include:
- Inflated Property Values: Eagle Rock allegedly misrepresented the value of undeveloped lots, leading consumers to believe they would appreciate significantly.
- Misleading Comparisons: The company allegedly used false comparisons and promises of equity growth to encourage purchases.
- High-Pressure Sales Tactics: Consumers reported being pressured into buying lots under the impression they were making a safe and lucrative investment.
The Lawsuit: According to the lawsuit, consumers paid between $30,000 and $100,000 for lots that often resold for only $5,000 to $20,000—or failed to sell at all. Despite allegations of promises of significant appreciation and resale potential, many consumers found the properties to have little to no market value unless a home was built on the lot.
