Sauder Schelkopf is investigating claims on behalf of individuals whose mobile location data may have been unlawfully collected and monetized by Amazon through its advertising technology.

Amazon’s Ads Software Development Kit (SDK), embedded in thousands of mobile applications, has been accused of covertly collecting precise location data from users without their knowledge or consent. This alleged data collection may have allowed Amazon to refine its targeted advertising strategies and generate revenue by sharing consumer information with third parties.

Key Allegations:
  • Unauthorized Access – Amazon allegedly accessed and stored precise location data from mobile devices running third-party apps without explicit user permission.
  • Invasive Tracking – This tracking may have occurred through popular mobile apps, affecting millions of consumers.
  • Lack of Transparency – Users were not informed that their sensitive location data was being collected and used for advertising purposes.
  • Legal Violations – These practices may violate federal and state privacy and consumer protection laws.
Who May Be Affected?

If you have used mobile apps that may contain the Amazon Ads SDK, such as The Weather Channel, Speedtest by Ookla, OfferUp, Truecaller, Rakuten Viber Messenger, My Talking Angela, and other widely used applications, your location data may have been unlawfully collected and used.
