Bucks County Residents Facing Water Contamination from Sunoco Pipeline Leak

Sauder Schelkopf is investigating potential legal claims against Sunoco, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer, after a major pipeline leak in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, contaminated residential water wells.

The Sunoco Twin Oaks Pipeline, which transports jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline, has been leaking for at least 16 months, according to federal regulators. Contaminants found in well water include:

Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) – a gasoline additive banned in 2006, linked to health risks such as nausea, dizziness, and respiratory issues.
Toluene and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – known to cause neurological and organ damage.
Lead and hydrocarbons – dangerous toxins with long-term health risks.
