Sauder Schelkopf is investigating reports of a hidden-camera incident involving a former employee at a Northwell Health sleep center in Manhasset, New York.
According to multiple news outlets, the individual pled guilty to charges related to concealing a camera inside a bathroom at the facility. Reports further allege that thousands of recordings may have been made.
Why This Matters
Patients and employees reasonably expect that healthcare facilities will maintain the highest standards of safety and privacy. Hidden-camera incidents are an extreme violation of that trust and can result in significant emotional, psychological, and reputational harm.
Potential Legal Claims
Victims of hidden-camera misconduct may have civil claims, including but not limited to:
- Invasion of Privacy
- Negligence in failing to safeguard patients or visitors
- Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress
- Breach of Fiduciary Duty in protecting sensitive health environments
