Sauder Schelkopf and co-counsel have filed a class action lawsuit against MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington for allegations that an emergency room nurse infected with Hepatitis C was injecting herself with a partial dose of narcotics intended for her patients and then injecting the remaining dose with the same needle into her patients.  Approximately 2,600 emergency room patients who received injections of narcotics, antihistamines or sedatives while the nurse was on duty between August 4, 2017, and March 23, 2018 are being notified by the hospital to be tested.  It has been reported that two patients have tested positive for Hepatitis C.

Experience Matters

Sauder Schelkopf litigated a similar case in Denver when a surgical technician exposed nearly 3,000 patients to HIV.  Read about it in the Denver Post.  We are also currently litigating a case against Walgreens and Theranos in Arizona related to misrepresentations made concerning its “disruptive” blood testing.  Read about it in USA Today.
