Sauder Schelkopf is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Apple for an alleged camera lens defect that causes excessive glare that substantially detracts from (or altogether ruins) the quality of pictures and videos taken with iPhones. Although this issue is reportedly most prevalent in iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, consumers have also reported experiencing glaring problems in the following iPhone models:

  • iPhone 14
  • iPhone 14 Pro
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max

At least one tech website covering the iPhone camera lens glaring defect explained that Apple attempted to fix the issue by adding a feature in beta models that enabled users to manually remove glare from photos, but it was unsuccessful and never added to the public iterations of iOS. Instead, the article below reports that iPhone owners must purchase aftermarket parts to solve the problem:

Based on the large number of consumer complaints about lens glare/flare issues in iPhones, it appears that Apple is well aware of the problem but has done nothing to resolve it.
