Workers at several Hooters locations found themselves abruptly unemployed after the restaurant chain closed 44 of its stores across the United States. The closures, attributed to “pressure from current market conditions,” came with little to no notice, may have violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

The WARN Act requires companies with 100 or more full-time employees to provide 60 days’ notice before implementing mass layoffs or store closures. The sudden closures of Hooters locations, including restaurants in Georgia, Florida, and Texas, have raised questions about compliance with this law.

If You Were Affected by These Closures, You May Be Entitled to Compensation

  • Do you work or did you work at a recently closed Hooters location?
  • Were you not given the proper 60-day notice of closure or layoff?

If so, you may have a legal claim against Hooters for violating the WARN Act. Affected employees could be entitled to back pay and benefits for the 60-day notice period they were not provided.
