Sauder Schelkopf is investigating a possible defect in Dexter axles used in certain Recreational Vehicles (RV’s). There have been reports that Dexter axles contained on certain RVs may leak grease, resulting in significant grease contamination on the brake pads and brake drums. Grease contamination of brake pads and brake drums can present a serious safety issue. As a result, these issues can lead to catastrophic brake failure along with safety issues and costly repairs. Unfortunately, Dexter and/or the RV company may decline to repair and/or replace the defective axles under warranty. As a result, current and former owners are often forced to pay out-of-pocket for the parts and labor of any required repairs.
