Sauder Schelkopf and co-counsel filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of Illinois children ages 14-17 years old who use TikTok. It was alleged that the social media platform collected and stored users’ biometric data without their consent, violating an Illinois biometric privacy law. It was further alleged that TikTok did not tell users they would collect their face scans or the specific reason for collecting the biometric information.
