Sauder Schelkopf filed a class action lawsuit related to the recently announced data breach. Managed Care of North America (MCNA), the largest dental insurer in the nation for government-sponsored Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs, announced a data breach that may impact nearly millions of individuals. MCNA reported that the breach included full names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued identification numbers, and health insurance information.
The HIPPA Journal reported in part:
Affected individuals are now being notified and are being offered complimentary credit monitoring services for 1 or 2 years, dictated by the minimum terms required by state laws. MCNA sent notifications on behalf of Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and the following 112 insurance plans.
