Sauder Schelkopf is investigating potential lawsuits on behalf of victims of sexual misconduct by living or deceased clergy in the state of New York. The New York Attorney General has subpoenaed Roman Catholic dioceses in New York to investigate sexual abuse.  New York’s investigation into clergy abuse follows Pennsylvania scathing grand jury report that identified more than 300 abusive priests and more than 1,000 child victims over seven decades. Numerous priests named in the Pennsylvania grand jury report served in New York at one time.

Experience Matters

Sauder Schelkopf has a nationally recognized sexual misconduct practice with significant experience fighting for victims.   Our former prosecutors have extensive experience investigating and trying cases on behalf of victims of all ages.  Sauder Schelkopf, and co-counsel, recently reached a $215 million settlement on behalf of female patients of Dr. George Tyndall, a gynecologist at the University of Southern California accused of sexual misconduct since the 1990s.  We currently represent survivors of clergy sexual abuse in dioceses throughout the country.  We have a class action lawsuit pending on behalf of males who were victims of sexual misconduct by Dr. Richard Strauss, the Ohio State team doctor, while they were students and student-athletes at Ohio State University.
