Sauder Schelkopf is investigating potential lawsuits against the Diocese of San Jose and the priests who committed alleged sexual abuse of children while serving in the Diocese of San Jose.  In the wake of the Pennsylvania grand jury report released to the public in August 2018 naming the priests accused of sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Jose plans to enlist an external agency to thoroughly investigate how the Diocese of San Jose historically handled the sexual abuse cases.  In addition, a final comprehensive report is expected to be released to the public in October 2018 naming accused clergy members.

Experience Matters

Sauder Schelkopf has a nationally recognized sexual assault practice.  We currently represent victims of clergy sexual abuse in the Pennsylvania and Arkansas dioceses.  We have a class action lawsuit pending on behalf of former males who were sexually abused by Dr. Richard Strauss while they were students and student-athletes at Ohio State University (“OSU”).  Read about our OSU case here.   We also represent females who were patients of Dr. George Tyndall, a gynecologist at the University of Southern California accused of sexually assaulting students since the 1990s.   Read about our USC case here.
